Disasters are not equal!
In the next decade, Canada can expect more severe storms, more flooding and a possible influenza pandemic. But according to the latest research, there are gaps in our disaster safety net, especially for the security of millions of vulnerable Canadians served by the voluntary sector.
To help plug those gaps, a concerned group of voluntary sector and emergency management organizations have identified the necessary steps and compiled the essential information to help organizations and communities boost their levels of disaster preparedness.
This Web site offers practical tools to improve service continuity, take inventory of overlooked community resources that could be life savers during a crisis or to create your own disaster response roundtable in your community.
Join the growing number of communities holding learning events, conversations and roundtables to work at building their disaster networks, mobilizing their resources and building a more disaster-proof place for the safety of their residents and their country.
